Overview

The GSP
Approach.

Licensed · Insured · 60+ Years

If your existing asphalt is worn, faded, or showing surface cracks but the base is still solid, resurfacing (also called an overlay) is a cost-effective way to restore a like-new finish. GSP Asphalt Paving applies a fresh layer of hot-mix asphalt over the existing surface, saving you the time and expense of a complete tear-out.

Common Questions

Answers,
Up Front.

Don't see your question? Call (732) 552-8737 — a real person picks up.

  • What is the difference between resurfacing and repaving?

Resurfacing applies a new asphalt layer over the existing surface, while repaving involves removing the old asphalt entirely and starting fresh. Resurfacing is ideal when the base is still structurally sound.

  • How do I know if resurfacing is right for my property?

Resurfacing works best when surface damage is cosmetic — minor cracking, fading, or roughness — but the base layer is intact. If there are deep potholes or base failure, a full replacement may be needed. We assess this during our free estimate.

  • How thick is a resurfacing overlay?

A typical residential overlay is 1.5 to 2 inches thick. Commercial applications may require 2 to 3 inches depending on traffic load and existing conditions.
